In the heart of Panagia, the brand-new Mensa restaurant showcases Cypriot gastronomy through simplicity and clean flavours, as well as contemporary techniques and modern culinary philosophy.
Behind the venture is Yiannakis Agapiou, the chef who has dedicated more than forty years to kitchens, always keeping in mind the promotion of Cyprus’s gastronomic identity.
His journey began in the mountain villages of Paphos, where traditional flavours and local produce formed the foundation of his cooking. He subsequently took on leadership roles in major hotel establishments and restaurants, both in Cyprus and abroad.
His contribution to the industry has been pivotal, as co-founder and president of the Cyprus Chefs Association, teaching in tertiary education and representing our country at international events.
With Mensa, Yiannakis Agapiou returns to his homeland to share his own interpretation of Cypriot gastronomic culture. The restaurant showcases local raw ingredients, marries tradition with contemporary creativity, and offers an experience that aims to connect the visitor with the area’s history and culture.
A new arrival that hasn’t gone unnoticed and which, without doubt, is reason enough in itself for a trip to this Paphos village.
