Golden Chef Hats Cyprus awards return for fifth year at Four Seasons

Cyprus’s most recognised and authoritative gastronomy awards return for a fifth year on 26 November, with Athinorama and Phileleftheros co-organising an event showcasing fine dining and the best of Cypriot cuisine.

The Golden Chef Hats Cyprus awards will bring together the island’s most talented and innovative chefs, restaurateurs and key figures from hospitality, culture, business and tourism at the Four Seasons hotel in Limassol to celebrate the best dining destinations on the island.

The event aims to highlight the creativity and progress of Cypriot dining, where fine dining, aesthetics and innovation take centre stage, promoting Cyprus as an emerging gastronomic destination.

Evaluation and categories

Athinorama’s tasting team evaluated Cypriot restaurants in 2025 based on international standards with strict criteria including quality of ingredients, perfection of cooking technique, balance and harmony of flavours, use of original ingredients and creative ideas, aesthetic presentation of dishes and the overall experience each restaurant offers.

The evaluation produced final scores and distinctions for restaurants that will be awarded in the categories Golden Chef Hats, Top Notch, One to Watch and Cypriot Cuisine.

Special menu celebrates classic fine dining

For the fifth awards ceremony, Golden Chef Hats Cyprus has invited Asterios Koustoudis to create and cook a special menu speaking the latest word in gastronomic fashion.

Koustoudis, executive chef of Athens’s landmark Hotel Grande Bretagne and King George hotels, is described as creative, highly experienced and amongst the top representatives of his generation.

Working with the motto “food is history and memory,” he has selected signature dishes that left their mark on different eras, bringing them masterfully into the present to create a fine dining menu paying tribute to the gastronomy of the past 50 years, full of surprises, twists and emotion.

He will be supported by the Four Seasons hotel’s executive chef Panagiotis Charalambous and his brigade.

Journalist and radio producer Marina Filippidou and actor and radio producer Andreas Phylactou will serve as masters of ceremony for this year’s awards.
