13 displaced after fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A total of 13 people were forced from their home after a fire broke out in Providence Saturday afternoon.

Kristy DosReis, a spokesperson for the city’s fire department, said the fire happened at a three-family home on Whittier Avenue just before 3 p.m.

When crews got there, they were met with heavy flames on the first floor that extended to the second.

Nobody suffered any injuries.

Officials are investigating what caused the fire.
