CONWAY, SC (WOWK) – Marshall had a strong start to their game on Thursday night on the road against Coastal Carolina, but five second half turnovers would prove to be the reason that the Thundering Herd dropped their fourth game of the season 44-27 to the Chanticleers.
Marshall got it going with a pick six from Boogie Trotter one minute into the game, and Marshall wound up taking a 20-17 lead to halftime.
Coastal Carolina benefitted from four Marshall turnovers in the third quarter alone to outscore the Herd 20-7, en route to their fifth victory of the season.
Marshall falls to 4-4 on the season, and 2-2 in Sun Belt play. They will play James Madison in the annual “75” game on November 8 at Noon.
