Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader launched the “RD-Trabaja” program and the major job fair “Tu empleo está aquí” (Your Job Is Here) this Thursday, where 66 companies are offering 7,012 formal job openings to citizens across the Dominican Republic. Abinader described the initiative as a key step toward strengthening the national economy through quality employment and highlighted both local and foreign investments—such as the Mexican firm Moon Palace, which will generate 3,500 jobs—as proof of growing confidence in the country’s labor market.
The president emphasized that the program will expand beyond Santo Domingo to benefit all regions, announcing the upcoming inauguration of two new industrial buildings in San Juan’s Free Trade Zone, expected to create immediate job opportunities. He also praised the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Labor and INFOTEP in connecting job seekers with employers and providing technical training to ensure efficient hiring.
The employment fair runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the UNICARIBE Convention Center on the 30 de Mayo Highway, featuring openings in the hotel, industrial, and service sectors.
