LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A woman was killed in a shooting late Wednesday night in the downtown area that resulted in the closure of Fremont Street.
Las Vegas Metropolitan police were in the area when they heard several gunshots around 10:50 p.m. from outside a motel in the 2100 block of Fremont Street, near Eastern Avenue, according to Lt. Steve Riback.
The officers found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

“There are multiple witnesses and persons on the scene that the homicide detectives are trying to determine their involvement with the incident,” Riback said.
Fremont Street reopened to traffic around 6 a.m.
No information was given on whether a suspect was in custody, but Riback said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no public threat.
