BEREA, Ohio –
Arrest warrants served: Front Street
A wanted Berea woman, 58, and a wanted Cleveland man, 27, were arrested at about 10 p.m. Oct. 28 on Front near Thacker Street.
Police stopped the woman’s Honda Civic because the temporary license tag had expired. The man was in the car’s front passenger seat.
Police learned the woman was wanted in Berea and the man was wanted in Berea and Westlake.
In the Civic police found a loaded 9 mm firearm. Police confiscated the weapon for safekeeping.
The woman’s husband arrived and parked the Honda in a nearby parking lot.
Theft: Lincoln Avenue
A sawhorse was stolen between Oct. 22-27 from a backyard on Lincoln.
Police interviewed neighbors, all of whom said they knew nothing about the theft. They said nothing had been stolen from their backyards.
Operating a vehicle under the influence: Lindberg Boulevard
A Berea man, 32, was arrested at about 11 p.m. Oct. 23 after police caught him driving drunk.
Police noticed the man’s Infiniti G37 traveling northbound on North Rocky River Drive. The vehicle’s window tints were darker than legally allowed.
The man turned westbound onto West Bagley Road and drove 37 mph in a 25-mph zone. Police pulled over the Infiniti after it had turned southbound onto Lindberg.
The Infiniti smelled like alcohol. The man slurred his words. He said he didn’t have a driver’s license. Police spotted an open bottle of vodka on the rear passenger floorboard.
The man failed field sobriety tests. Police found 11 plastic bags, each containing about 36 grams of marijuana, in the vehicle.
Theft: South Rocky River Drive
A circular welcome sign with images of green leaves and a pumpkin was stolen off the front door of a condominium in Parkview Commons, 115 South Rocky River.
The victims said the theft occurred between 9:30-10:30 p.m. They suspected one of their neighbors.
Theft: Nobottom Road
A rear license plate was stolen between Oct. 18-23 from a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked outside a Nobottom home.
The victim said she had just purchased the license plate and placed it on the Jeep on Oct. 18.
