MBABANE – Renowned spoken word artist, Christian Maz, is set to take his acclaimed one man show beyond Africa’s borders, with the United States chosen as his next stop. The move marks a major step in his mission to transform the show into a globally recognised performance series that celebrates Eswatini’s artistic identity
“For the fourth edition, we chose the U.S. because we are trying to travel with these shows until they become the greatest thing that has ever happened,” he explained.
The comedian noted that the one-man show is more than just a performance it has become a cultural bridge that unites art, identity and expression. The show has captivated audiences across Eswatini and South Africa with its powerful blend of poetry, storytelling and music, establishing Christian Maz as a trailblazer in spoken word artistry.
The poet also acknowledged the crucial role played by the Eswatini diaspora, especially students in South African universities, who have shown unwavering support for his artistic journey.
“It is all grace. I am very humbled by the love expressed. Emaswati in universities in South Africa did justice,” he said, appreciating their energy and encouragement during his performances.
Their involvement, he noted, continues to inspire him to push creative boundaries and represent Eswatini with pride on global stages. Christian Maz also credited fellow local artists who have collaborated with him in refining his poetic expression to carry the voice of Eswatini through captivating words and continued culture.
