Artists from Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam showcase works in Ho Chi Minh City

Artists from four countries gather at the Art and Culture exhibition at Lotus Art Hub in Ho Chi Minh City

The exhibition presents more than 50 works by Yoshinaga Kotaku and Ando Keita from Japan, Ismanto Wahyudi and Alex Danny Santosa from Indonesia, Viudes Barboza Tiago from Brazil, along with several Vietnamese painters.

The artworks are on display until October 31 at Lotus Art Hub at 99 Nguyen Thi Thap Street, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Each piece is described as a delicate dialogue, where art transcends geographical boundaries to explore shared human values of empathy, beauty and faith in creative power.

From Brazil, Viudes Barboza Tiago introduces his “Critic-Naif” series as an artistic statement bridging Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Vietnamese artists also made their mark at the exhibition.

For painter Nguyen Duy Nhut, painting is a journey toward inner peace, while Nguyen Thanh Nhan brings vibrant energy to his works, and Nguyen Duc, who came to art later in life, describes living and working in a creative environment as a dream come true.

“Con Nguoi va Thien Nhien” (Human and nature) by Tran Dinh Thang

Meanwhile, painter Nguyen Minh Quang shared that despite differences in culture, the artists connect through a shared language of art and friendship.

Every nation carries its own artistic identity that reflects its collective memory and spirit, yet they all meet at universal human values—the desire to create and the belief in beauty, he said.

The exhibition offers a chance to reflect on these values, in which art nurtures understanding, connects people and inspires hope for the future.

The Art and Culture exhibition also marks the launch of Lotus Art Hub, a contemporary art space aimed at fostering connection and creative exchange among Vietnamese and international artists.

According to painter Siu Quy, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, Lotus Art Hub serves as a bridge linking local and global artists in a vibrant southern metropolis.

More than just an exhibition space, Lotus Art Hub aims to become a creative venue that grows alongside the community, where artists, researchers, and art lovers can meet, exchange ideas, and together build an open and humanistic art ecosystem.
