LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man convicted of robbing a series of Las Vegas casinos is expected to be transferred to Nevada after a Friday arrest in Florida linked him to allegations of human trafficking.
D’Shante Styles, 35, is scheduled to appear for an extradition hearing next month, following a coordinated effort between the Miami Beach Police Department, the FBI, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
He faces allegations of human trafficking and multiple violent crimes, according to a police press release.
Court documents obtained by 8 News Now show Styles is being held on a fugitive warrant in a Miami Beach jail.
In 2023, Styles took a plea deal and was sentenced to a year in jail and probation following a police investigation, which linked him to a series of Las Vegas casino robberies and a car theft.
Police said during an October 2023 news conference that Styles has a lengthy criminal history and has committed at least 13 separate robberies. His court records show he has a conviction for robbery in 2008 and three convictions for robbery with the use of a deadly weapon in 2009, as well as other arrests listed on his court documents.
