Multiple agencies searching CT state forest for missing woman

Connecticut State Police, Environmental Conservation Police and the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection are searching the Natchaug State Forest for a missing 61-year-old woman.

Anne Marie Pappalardo, of Mansfield, was last seen on Sunday, according to the Silver Alert issued late Monday night.

Troopers said her vehicle was later found near the state park. The forest where the agencies are searching is located in the towns of Eastford, Chaplin and Hampton in the northeastern corner of the state.

Officials said the park is closed as the search continues and are asking hunters, anglers, hikers and other visitors who to avoid the area until further notice. The more people are in the park the more likely it is that K9 units could lose Pappalardo’s scent trail or follow false leads.

Pappalardo is described as white with brown hair and green eyes, standing at 5-foot-8 and weighing around 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black vest, black leggings and brown boots.
