The students and staff of Bocage Primary School are celebrating the addition of a new Lunch Pavilion and Playhouse, officially handed over  by Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for Castries East, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The new facilities were designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and creative space for students, enhancing the school environment and supporting holistic learning.

In her remarks, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Saint Lucia, H.E. Nicole Su, reaffirmed her government’s continued support for Saint Lucia’s national development and emphasised the importance of investing in facilities that nurture creativity, learning, and community spirit.

Prime Minister Pierre expressed gratitude to the teachers and staff of Bocage Primary for their service and dedication, noting that the project represents a meaningful step in ensuring our children have the best possible environment to learn and grow. He encouraged students to dream big and believe in their purpose, reminding them that every child has the potential to shape Saint Lucia’s future.

Principal Tamara Smith-St. Marthe thanked the Government of Saint Lucia and the Embassy of Taiwan for their continued partnership and support. She highlighted the pavilion’s role in improving the school’s learning and recreational experience.

The handover ceremony underscored the shared commitment of the M.P. for Castries East, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, the Government and the Embassy of Taiwan to invest in the well-being of the nation’s children.
