Op-Ed: Your Winter Cold Started With Your Summer Choices

Author, Logan DuVall

We all know there’s a cold and flu season.

Many also know about Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD, like the Standard American Diet), the winter blues that get worse the farther you move from the equator.

They just so happen to coincide.

Now, my paradigm says that’s no coincidence. It’s rooted in light, water, magnetism, temperature, and time.

So before we talk about winter sickness and depression, let’s rewind. What did we do before winter? Or better yet, what didn’t we do?

During the summer, before fall, before “cold and flu season,” before SAD, what happened?

Was it “too hot”? Did we stay inside and hide from the “bad UV light” like the dermatologists and optometrists said? Sunglasses and sunscreen? Like the sun is the enemy and not the source of all life on earth? Photosynthesis says hi.

You know, the same UV light that creates vitamin D, the very thing now pushed as a supplement to support the immune system.

Psychotic.

That same UV light is critical for the cleavage of one of the most important molecules in the body, POMC.

Without it, you can’t produce the smaller, vital molecules that modulate the immune system, reduce hunger, act as natural pain relievers, or build the semiconductor that runs biology, melanin.

It’s much more than a tan.

But what did we do? We hid from the sun, wore sunglasses, and sat under artificial blue lights — looking more like the Blue Man Group than human beings.

Can you see how what we do in the summer determines what happens in the fall and winter?

And as winter sets in, we break even more natural laws, God’s laws.

In nature, this is when we’d naturally shift toward a ketogenic or fasting pattern of eating. But instead, we gorge on holiday junk.

October: Halloween.
November: Thanksgiving.
December: Christmas.
February: Valentine’s Day.

See the mismatch?

When we’re designed to be fasting and running on fat, we’re instead feasting on carbs and sweets — completely out of sync with the season and time.

That destroys the immune system. It throws off every bit of biology, all while we sit in artificial environments blasted by blue light that destroys melatonin and depletes dopamine.

So we enter cold and flu season with low dopamine, low vitamin D, and pale complexions.

Vitamin D levels should fluctuate with the seasons. They aren’t meant to be static.

They should rise in the summer to carry us through the winter. That’s not complicated, it’s obvious.

But we love our comfort.

We’ve destroyed our thyroids through blue light exposure, iodine deficiency, and halogen toxicity from bromine and fluoride, so we can’t regulate temperature.

We get cold.

So we bundle up, turn on the heater, use seat warmers, and bathe ourselves in electromagnetic radiation.

But cold is vital.

It’s a sensing signal; it tells our bodies what time and season it is.

Cold sends a direct message to the mitochondria, which respond by generating heat, light.

That inner light creates melanin through melanogenin.

That light also helps create vitamin D.

Cold stimulates it all.

We actually produce UV light inside our cells.

Sounds crazy, but it’s true.

We even have opsins, light-detecting proteins and one specific type detects UVC light. That wavelength doesn’t reach Earth’s surface.

So where does it come from?

Us.

Biophotons.

Cold therapy is one of my favorite tools — especially in winter. It does so much good.

I’m not saying freeze, I’m saying experience the cold. It’s OK to be uncomfortable.

See the sunrise every day, even when it’s cold.

That light and temperature set your biological clock.

Ground yourself to bring in magnetism.

Sunrise is your timestamp. It sets circadian rhythm.

At night, turn off the lights. Use incandescents.

Understand that the timing of light is everything.

Morning red, daytime UV, evening red, night dark.

Phones should be red-filtered. Everyone should have blue-blocking glasses.

And yes, that bright basketball game in the gym under artificial light is wrecking your health.

We all make tradeoffs but understand what’s at stake.

This is the root of our epidemic of chronic disease autoimmune issues, neurodegeneration, diabetes, thyroid problems, cancer, you name it.

It’s not random. It’s environmental. It’s lifestyle.

God’s laws, lived in accordance with nature, are the solution.

Always have been. Always will be.

This is the truth.

I’ve got nothing to gain by saying it, except seeing lives improve.

My goal is to cure cancer.

And any protocol that omits light, water, magnetism, temperature, and time is missing the foundation, the biggest piece of the puzzle.

Links are always in the comments. We cover every single aspect of this on the Sowing Prosperity podcast. I write about each piece over and over.

Ask questions. Give others your experience. I’m told every single day this is changing lives.
