Prayagraj: District magistrate, Prayagraj, Ravindra Kumar on Wednesday conducted surprise inspections at Sarojini Naidu Children Hospital and District Women Hospital. At SN Children Hospital, the DM visited the OPD registration counter, OPD room, vaccination area, medicine distribution counter, general and emergency wards, operation room, and other sections. Hospital authorities apprised the DM that a total of 153 registrations were made on Wednesday and the daily average registration remained between 200 and 225.The DM expressed his displeasure over the non-functional air conditioner at the OPD and asked the authorities to replace it and also install a jumbo cooler for people sitting outside the OPD. He also inquired the reason behind the non-availability of anti-rabies injections, on which he was informed that the facility was available at the Beli Hospital. The DM issued directives for the installation of a network of CCTV sets by June 15 and to make adequate arrangements for beds for the admission of children. Meanwhile, the DM also inspected the District Women Hospital (Dufferin Hospital) and interacted with patients. The patients appreciated the efforts of the superintendent in charge of the hospital, and the DM also commended her efforts for better arrangements. He said that all the hospitals should install a token generation machine and a waiting display board.
