Ozama River floating bridge reopens after cleanup following Hurricane Melissa

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that the floating bridge over the Ozama River has reopened to vehicular traffic after cleanup operations removed lilacs and other debris washed onto the bridge by recent rains.

MOPC crews worked continuously to ensure safe and smooth passage between Santo Domingo Este and the National District following the preventive closure during Hurricane Melissa.

The ministry thanked citizens for their patience and reaffirmed its commitment to the maintenance and safety of the country’s key infrastructure.
