Protestors gathered outside Parliament ahead of the highly anticipated Budget 2026 speech to voice their opposition to the proposed planning reforms that have recently sparked controversy across the island.

Arriving unannounced on Sunday morning, the demonstrators quickly set up around two dozen tents, chaining them together as they vowed to remain in place for several days.

The protest, organised by several NGOs including Moviment Graffitti, comes as a follow-up to the massive demonstration that took place in Valletta a few weeks ago.

Various photos show the motivated protestors using their democratic right to show the state what they truly think of the planning reform proposals.
