CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 56-year-old Orville woman died and a man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Penfield Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Elyria Post responded to the scene at 6:41 a.m. where they found a collision between a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2025 Honda HR-V at the intersection of Foster Road and State Route 18, WKYC reports.
Investigators determined the Silverado was traveling south on Foster Road when it failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the intersection, the outlet noted. The pickup truck was then struck by the westbound Honda.
Wendy Kobyluck, who was driving the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene despite wearing a seat belt, troopers said, according to WKYC.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who was not wearing a seat belt according to highway patrol officials, was flown to Metro Health Hospital with serious injuries, WKYC added.
Multiple agencies assisted at the crash site, including the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Wellington Fire Department, South Lorain County Ambulance, and two towing companies.
The crash remains under investigation.
