Georgia, Turkey strengthen Health Cooperation

Georgia: The Georgian Minister of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health and Social Welfare, Mikheil Sarjveladze, visited the Richard Lugar Public Health Research Center, together with Turkish Minister of Health Kemal Memishoglu, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labor, Health, and Social Welfare of Georgia shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The Georgian Health Ministry also shared some information related to the meeting, along with its glimpses.

According to the information shared by the Health Ministry of Georgia, it should be noted that the parties discussed strengthening cooperation on pandemic, infectious disease control, and public health protection. At the meeting, the importance of coordinated actions of the Turkish and Georgian health care systems was emphasized. Also, the readiness of both countries to implement joint projects in the future.

It was noted here that Georgia and Turkey are ready to strengthen cooperation in the healthcare sector, which will contribute to the development of more efficient, sustainable, and modern healthcare systems in both countries.

Mikheil Sarjveladze once again emphasized the importance of partnership with Turkey, especially close cooperation in the healthcare sector. According to his statement, the parties discussed the sharing of disease prevention, treatments, and methods, and concrete steps will be taken in these areas in the near future.

Furthermore, the Turkish Minister of Health spoke with Georgia about the importance of strengthening cooperation in health care. Kemal Memishoglu thanked the representatives of the Georgian government for their cooperation and noted that Turkey and Georgia are neighboring and friendly countries that always stand on the right side of history and represent peace and prosperity.

It is also worth noting that the Turkish Minister of Health, Kemal Memishoglu, together with his deputy and heads of health care, visited Tbilisi on October 20 and held high-level meetings.
