Lightning strikes cause delays on Denver RTD E and R Lines

Denver commuters can expect up to 30-minute delays on the city’s Regional Transportation District’s E and R Lines because of lightning strikes in the area.

Lightning did not strike anything, according to an RTD representative.

However, maintenance is being done at County Line Station, where maintenance staff had to stop working because of the severe weather.

Trains are still running, but they need to manually short-turn the trains at Southmoor and Lincoln stations, which is causing delays.

The delays are in effect until further notice, the alert stated.

The E Line runs between Union Station and RidgeGate Parkway Station, while the R Line operates between Lincoln Station and Peoria Station, according to RTD’s website.
