WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — Wake Preparatory Academy in Wake Forest is moving to a remote learning day Thursday due to a threat, school officials told parents Wednesday night.
“This afternoon, we became aware of a potential threatening statement directed toward Wake Preparatory Academy,” the message to parents said. “We are actively working with law enforcement to investigate the situation and identify the source of this statement.”
In-person classes have been canceled Thursday, and a remote instruction day is planned for students and teachers.
“We anticipate resuming normal in-person school operations on Friday, October 24, 2025, and will keep you informed as new information becomes available,” administrators wrote to parents. “During this time, please note that responses to administrative inquiries may be delayed, as our primary focus is on this situation.”
The school did not give specifics on the threat. CBS 17 has reached out to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for more details, but has not received a response.
