CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Restaurants and businesses across the Lowcountry are offering freebies and discounts to federal workers as the government shutdown stretches into its third week.
The shutdown entered its 22nd day on Wednesday, with congressional Republicans and Democrats appearing no closer to reaching an agreement that would reopen the government, leaving millions of federal employees either furloughed or having to work without pay.
