WASHINGTON (WCAX) – North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has launched a new state political action committee called Save New York.
The move further fuels speculation that Stefanik will make a run for New York Governor next year.
It comes after Stefanik’s team commissioned internal polling against Governor Kathy Hochul, whom Stefanik has called “the worst governor in America.”
“It has never been more clear that we need strong, commonsense Republican leadership in New York,” Stefanik said in a statement.
According to a media release, the PAC will help “support Republican candidates across New York in 2025.”
If Stefanik does enter the race, she might face off in a Republican primary against Rep. Mike Lawler, who has been teasing a run for several months.
New York Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado announced Monday that he will challenge his boss next year, months after a feud between the two Democrats erupted into public view.
