WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — For those with minds made for creating the wittiest whims and most clever of puns, the City of Westfield needs your help in its 2025 Snowplow Contest!
The city, in a post on social media, called on all residents to submit their “most snow-tastic” ideas for a city snowplow. The city will then narrow down their top five, and the community will vote for this year’s winner.
The grand champion will then have the pride of knowing it named one of the city’s much-needed winter warriors.
The rules are simple: Live in Westfield or Washington Township; don’t use profane language, copywritten terms, or politically inspired names; and only submit 4 names per person.

- Winning participant(s) must live in Westfield or Washington Township.
- Up to 4 submissions per person. Please limit names to 40 characters or less.
- Submissions that include the following will not be considered:
- Your name.
- Profanity or other inappropriate language.
- Politically inspired names (including phrases, slogans, or plays on politicians’ names).
- Trademark or copyright protected words.
- If the same name is submitted by multiple participants, the person with the first submission will be credited.
- By submitting your entry, you agree to allow the city to use your submitted entry in a public and official capacity and make any adjustments to your submission.
- Name(s) of the winning participant(s) will be shared in a news release, on the city’s website, e-newsletter, printed newsletter, social media, and other communications channels.
- If your snowplow name is selected as the winner, you will be notified by phone or email.

City of Westfield employees and their families are unfortunately excluded from the contest.
The contest officially opened Monday. Starting Oct. 27 and Oct. 28, Westfield’s Public Works and Communications staff will narrow down submissions to the top five.
Public voting for the top five names opens Oct. 29 and runs through Nov. 4. The lucky winner will be notified on Nov. 5.
