Fenerbahce is reportedly considering offers for Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, whose long injury layoff and high salary have placed him at the center of financial discussions within the club.

The 31-year-old joined the Istanbul side earlier this year after declining a move to Galatasaray but has not played since suffering a training injury ahead of the league match against Samsunspor in October.

According to the Turkish news outlet sozcu.com.tr, the Yellow Canaries is open to offers for Ederson’s potential move by the winter transfer season.

Fenerbahce still without Ederson

Head coach Domenico Tedesco had indicated that Ederson could return after the international break, yet the player remained unavailable for selection in recent fixtures. Tedesco later said the team was waiting for him “to reach full fitness soon,” without giving a specific timeline for his comeback.

Ederson has missed the last two matches due to a muscle strain and will also be unavailable for Fenerbahce’s UEFA Europa League clash against Germany’s Stuttgart in Istanbul on Thursday.

Club sources say the board shares concerns over Fenerbahce’s wage structure and is reshuffling its strategy to balance the club’s finances.

Although Vice Chair Murat Salar assured congress members that the club does not face unmanageable debt, total liabilities of €395 million ($458.7 million) have raised concerns about the sustainability of current spending levels.

Ederson earns €11 million a year at Fenerbahce, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Turkish Super Lig. His contract, signed under former president Ali Koc, is believed to be among the most expensive on the team’s roster.
