Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing comforts a Tatmadaw member who receives medical treatment at the local Tatmadaw hospital in Pathein yesterday.

Tatmadaw members serving in various regions should work in unity with local residents to effectively ensure local security, stability, and peace.

Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met Tatmadaw members and families of Pathein Station at Ayeyawady Hall of the South-West Command Headquarters yesterday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that Tatmadaw must be a capable and strong armed force that can effectively safeguard the country. Tatmadaw members serving in various regions should work in unity with local residents to effectively ensure regional security, stability, and peace.
With the mindset of being a good Tatmadaw member, he continued that each Tatmadaw member should avoid, as much as possible, indulgence in drinking, smoking, and other habits that could harm their lives and well-being, and must maintain proper conduct and live in accordance with military discipline.
He added that just as the Tatmadaw is making efforts to ensure the comfort and well-being of Tatmadaw members and their families, they should also strive, to the best of their ability, to successfully carry out agriculture and livestock breeding activities within military-owned areas. The Senior General pointed out that as the country has long been weak in industrial production, natural resources have been continuously extracted and used over generations. Therefore, since the country already has a foundation in agriculture and livestock breeding, members of the Tatmadaw should assist local people in their respective areas to enhance production in these sectors.
He underlined that if armed terrorist act continues to cause instability, it will be impossible to carry out economic activities. Therefore, it is essential to put an end to armed terrorism and restore peace and stability in the regions.
The meeting was also attended by Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the Senior General, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives.
The Senior General presented foodstuff for Tatmadaw members and families of the station to the commander while the wife of the Senior General gave the cash award for the station maternal and child welfare association through the wife of the commander.
