Hanover Police investigate HAZMAT incident outside Dartmouth dining hall

HANOVER N.H. (WCAX) – Police in Hanover N.H. are investigating after a woman is seen spraying and pouring chemicals into a parked car at Dartmouth College.

Hanover Police say it happened just after 11 Sunday morning on mass row outside a dining hall. They say a witness called in saying they thought the chemicals might be dangerous.

When officers got there, they found the car emitting a strong odor and said they then found the person responsible on campus, and it was her own car she was pouring the chemicals on.

Dartmouth Environmental Health and Safety, the Upper Valley Mid-Western HAZMAT team and Hanover Fire Department say the surrounding area is safe and there is no threat to the public, but the car is still being evaluated for noxious gases.

No charges have been filed but police say they are still investigating.
