TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office says a girl, not even two-years-old, was killed in a crash Saturday night.
Just after 7 p.m., Taunton EMS was called to 400 Broadway, for a report of a motor vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived on scene, they found a white Chevy van and a blue Toyota Rav 4 SUV that we involved in a head-on collision.
An initial investigation showed that the Rav 4 appeared to have crashed into the van, and both vehicles were heavily damaged.
A 25-year-old woman driving the Rav 4 was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in stable condition.
Investigators said a girl, almost 2-years-old, was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
A 5-year-old girl was taken to an out of state trauma center and is in stable condition.
The van was occupied by four men, who remained on scene and did not display any injuries.
The investigation is being coordinated by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Taunton Police Department.
The accident remains under investigation.
