MADISON, Wis. — Ohio State football will have defensive tackle Eddrick Houston and defensive back Lorenzo Styles Jr. available for Saturday’s game at Wisconsin.
Both defenders were left off the Buckeyes’ availability report this week after missing last week’s game at Illinois.
Houston entered the season as a starter for defensive coordinator Matt Patricia. However, inconsistent play from Houston forced Tywone Malone Jr. into the starting lineup by Week 3.
Coach Ryan Day and his staff expressed continued belief in Houston, and he showed signs of progress in an Oct. 4 win against Minnesota. In the victory, Houston earned a season-best defensive grade from Pro Football Focus (76.7).
However, he left the game with an injury after playing 17 snaps.
Styles’ return gives Ohio State a veteran starter back in its secondary. Without him last week, the Buckeyes moved cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr. into the slot and had freshman Devin Sanchez start outside.
