Rohit Paudel: Dream of playing second consecutive T20 World Cup comes true

Kathmandu, October 16

Nepal cricket team captain Rohit Paudel has said that the dream of playing in the T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time has come true.

Speaking after Nepal’s victory over Oman in the late-night match on Wednesday, he said the team had been dreaming of this moment for the past year.

“We had been dreaming about this for almost a year, and today it has come true. I can’t express it in words,” he said. “This moment has made the entire team happy.”

He mentioned that the team understood the importance of this tournament and played accordingly to achieve this result. He also stated that their next goal is to win the trophy.

Rohit expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the team throughout the journey.

“From players to officials, everyone who made this victory possible , I want to thank them all,” he said.

Since the World Cup will be held in India, Paudel expressed confidence that many Nepalis will come to the stadium to support the team.

“There are many Nepalis in India, and many will travel from Nepal too, the atmosphere in the stadium will be amazing,” he added.

He said that Nepal would perform even better in the World Cup than in the qualifiers.

Both Nepal and Oman have already qualified for the World Cup. With Wednesday’s win, Nepal climbed to the top of the table with 8 points from 4 matches.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated the UAE on Sunday and Qatar on Monday.
