DUTIES
Being part of the Local Guard Force (LGF) under Regional Security Office (RSO), the Guard provides security for Embassy personnel and facilities by conducting access control and visitor screening. By employing physical, technical and procedural security systems, incumbent prevents unauthorized access, maintains order, and deters criminal and terrorist attacks against employees and all U.S. assets.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATIONS
Requirements: All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust security clearance.
All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS APPLICANTS MUST MEET EITHER OPTION 1, OPTION 2 OR OPTION 3 TO QUALIFY

Language: Marshallese language: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in reading/speaking/writing is required. English language: Level 1 (Rudimentary knowledge) in reading/speaking/writing is required. This may be tested.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge of the emergency response procedures and notification process, familiarity with security equipment and processes, awareness of cultural norms and customs required.

Skills And Abilities: Ability to understand the security control panel and to operate emergency alarms and the public address system. Ability to use security equipment such as radio communication equipment, fire extinguisher, and personal protective equipment (e.g., batons, pepper spray, handcuffs, etc.). Ability to use Automated External Defibrillator. Daily duties may involve extended periods of walking and/or standing in a wide variety of weather conditions. Ability to work flexible shift schedules, to include nights, days, weekends, and/or holidays.

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT CONSIDERATIONS
The following apply to EFMs, USEFMs, and AEFMs only:
- Current employees who used a hiring preference to gain employment who are within their first 90 calendar days of employment are not eligible. This does not apply when the hiring mechanism is TEMP or the work schedule is intermittent or irregular.
- Candidates with a hiring preference who have already accepted a conditional offer of employment may NOT be extended a second conditional offer of employment unless and until they withdraw their candidacy for the first position in writing.
The following apply to Locally Employed (LE) staff only:
- Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible.
