Students at the career center took images crafted by local elementary school students. Children in Grades 2-5 were invited to participate. After a few images were selected, Greene’s students brought the designs to life.”We brought them back here, and we allowed our juniors and seniors to reformat the artwork, and we formatted it to fit within a greeting card space. Once they did that, we crafted messages and we came up with this slogan, the ‘Love Quotes,'” Greene said.Greene and some of his students hand-delivered the cards to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He hopes the lesson will stick with students long after the school day is over.”We teach the young people how to engage personally, and it’s important. We really feel like these tips can help,” Greene said.Greene hopes this is just the beginning, with plans to make additional cards for other neighbors in the future.
