Federal building in Williston vandalized

WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) building in Williston was seen vandalized Sunday morning.

The front of the building, and at least two other exterior walls from what WCAX crews could see, were spray painted with multiple phrases inciting self-harm and other statements, including one reading “you are not safe.”

While WCAX crews on scene did not see any expletives, we decided to blur the statements for the sensitivity of some viewers.

WCAX crews saw two Department of Homeland Security cars and several officers on scene, as well as local police in unmarked vehicles. They declined on-camera interviews and told our crews they did not have any information to share as of Sunday morning.

We will share when we learn more.

A previous version of this story stated it was an U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement facility, which is across the street.
