Stretch of wet weather continues into this week

Cloudy skies and mild low temperatures are around for this morning. Isolated to scattered showers are also moving around southern and central New Mexico. Another day of showers and possible thunderstorms are expected as remnants of former Tropical Storm Raymond funnels plentiful amount of moisture into New Mexico. Over the last 24-48 hours sufficient rainfall has accumulated in areas of New Mexico and southern Colorado. The National Weather Service has issued Flood Warnings in northeast La Plata County and in also Archuleta County for heavy rainfall that has caused flooding in rivers/streams. A Flood Watch is also in place until this evening for Hidalgo and Grant counties.

The remnants of Raymond will still fuel showers and the potential for thunderstorms on Monday with the threat for flash flooding. Another Flood Watch will be issued for a portion of Southwest Colorado from Monday morning until noon on Tuesday. Moisture is expected to linger through early to midweek with additional rain chances across the southwest.

A backdoor cold front is also expected on Monday, which may drop temperatures in a few spots; however, drier conditions and cooler temperatures will settle into the region later this week after a pacific cold front approaches from the west. In regard to the last morning of Balloon Fiesta there is a chance for a spotty or isolated shower with breezy winds aloft. Showers and possible storms are on tap for Albuquerque today too.
