CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — A local art gallery celebrated its 50 year anniversary on Friday.
Gallery Eleven in Charleston houses art from past and present local artists, all with unique styles and stories.
“It’s changed a lot over the years, and each new artist brought their own gifts and creativity to add to the group, and there are different styles. Each artist as a different style, and we all work together to keep the gallery going,” Gallery Eleven VP Jerre Watkins said.
The gallery started in downtown Charleston on Broad Street, moved to Quarrier Street and can now be found in the Charleston Town Center. Local artists who want to become members can do so online on the gallery’s website.
