ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WOWK) – Halloween is right around the corner, and the City of St. Albans is celebrating with a full schedule of spooky events for families to come out and celebrate.
The annual Haunted Trail returns to St. Albans City Park Nature Trail starting Oct. 10 until Oct. 18. The trail is open on Friday and Saturday nights, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, with free hayrides and parking available.
Opening weekend features vendors, writing workshops, and special guest Jeremy Ambler, star of AMC’s The Walking Dead. The Haunted Trail will feature a sensory-friendly night on Oct. 16.
“Fall in St. Albans is one of the best times of the year, and our Halloween traditions bring people together from across the region. Whether you’re looking for scares on the Haunted Trail, family fun at Trunk or Treat, or a safe night of Trick or Treating, St. Albans is proud to offer something for everyone this season,” Mayor Scott James said.
Trunk or Treat returns on Saturday, Oct. 25, starting at 3 p.m. at Maranatha Fellowship on Kanawha Terrace. This event is presented by the St. Albans Parks & Recreation Department in partnership with Maranatha Fellowship.
Citywide Trick or Treat in St. Albans will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., following the same schedule as Kanawha County. Residents are encouraged to participate safely, with porch lights on for welcoming trick-or-treaters.
“Our team works hard to create events that the entire community can enjoy. From making the Haunted Trail bigger and better each year, to providing safe spaces like Trunk or Treat and Sensory Night, we’re excited to offer experiences that bring families together and showcase the spirit of St. Albans,” Parks Superintendent Kevin Pennington said in a statement.
