Minot Hosting Economic Development Association Conference

MINOT, N.D. (EDND) – The Economic Development Association of North Dakota (EDND) will host its Fall Conference in Minot on October 7-9, with events taking place at Minot State University and The Regency. The conference will bring together economic developers, state and local officials, business leaders, and community stakeholders from across North Dakota and beyond for an energizing mix of training, idea-sharing, and networking.

This year’s theme, “Stronger Partnerships, Greater Possibilities,” emphasizes how collaboration and innovation can drive North Dakota’s economy forward and build stronger communities. The conference will feature keynote speakers, interactive panels, and networking opportunities focused on priority issues such as workforce development, education partnerships, agricultural transportation, natural gas expansion, infrastructure funding, and strategies to strengthen partnerships across the state.

Alongside the sessions, participants will also experience Minot through special activities such as a tour of the Minot Intermodal Facility and Logistics Park of North Dakota, a visit to the Magic City Discovery Center, and an evening gathering at Citizens Alley in Downtown Minot.

“We are excited to welcome the state’s economic developers, state cabinet members, elected officials, and statewide leaders to Minot,” said Brekka Kramer, President | CEO of the Minot Area Chamber EDC. “This year, we’re especially thrilled to add an international speaker — Dell Gines, Chief Innovation Officer with the International Economic Development Council — who will share insights on The Present and Future of AI in Economic Development. By working together and pooling our resources, we amplify our impact, building stronger communities and unlocking greater opportunities for growth throughout North Dakota.”

State, county, and community leaders, as well as others involved in community development, are encouraged to attend. EDND is dedicated to promoting the creation of new wealth across North Dakota to build vibrant communities and improve the quality of life for all residents. EDND’s membership includes professional economic development organizations and other businesses or organizations with a vested interest in the state’s economic development.

Community sponsors for this event include Able, Inc., AE2S, Bank of North Dakota, Basin Electric Cooperative, Bolton & Menk, Inc., Dakota Business Lending, North Dakota Department of Commerce, North Dakota Small Business Development Center, North Dakota Trade Office, and Xcel Energy.
