RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Police told CBS 17 that Selma Rodas Vicente was found safe in Tennessee after officers began searching for her in a kidnapping investigation early Saturday morning in north Raleigh.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers reported to an apartment complex around 3 a.m. on the 5000 block of Windy Hill Drive.

Officers said there was evidence of physical endangerment, abduction or kidnapping seen at the scene.

According to a spokesperson with police, Rodas Vicente was “found safe” with the suspect, 27-year-old Ismael De Jesus Niz-Miguel in Tennessee Saturday afternoon by a local police department.

Niz-Miguel remains in custody in Tennessee at this time, according to Raleigh police. Charges are currently pending against Niz-Miguel.

Rodas Vicente has also yet to return to NC while she recovers from the incident, police said.
