WOWK High School Football 2025: Week 7

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – High school football is going into its seventh week of the 2025 season with games happening all over Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia Friday night.

Starting in West Virginia, the Capital Cougars hosting the Huntington Highlanders. First drive for the Highlanders, Tayveon Wilson rolling to his right and finds Andreas Reese on a crossing route for a touchdown. Huge win for Huntington, but a huge loss for Capital trying to prove they belong in the playoffs, 38-6.

Elsewhere, two teams looking for their first win of the season, the Hurricane Redskins battling the St. Albans Red Dragons. Hurricane QB Isaiah Kutscher passes to Riley Armstrong, who runs to the endzone, putting Hurricane up 24-0. Hurricane gets their first win of the year, 44-22, over St. Albans.

Out to Ona, the Cabell Midland Knights looking to build off their first win taking on St. Francis Desales. It’s back and forward before St. Francis QB RJ Day passes to Frankie McAllister, who toe taps in the corner for a touchdown. Not the night for the Knights as the Stallions win this one 40-7.

Back to the river in Elkview, the Herbert Hoover Huskies looking for their fifth win in a row battling South Charleston. Opening drive for the Huskies, Senior Devin Silvas gets the handoff and finds his way into the endzone. The Huskies would take a 41-0 lead into halftime and would narrowly miss the shut out, taking down South Charleston 48-6.

In Wayne County, the Spring Valley Timberwolves taking on the Riverside Warriors. Start of the second half, Timberwolves have possession when Caiden Lovejoy drops back looking to pass and makes the connection with Jake Vanarsdale. He’ll flip into the endzone for the touchdown. A late fourth down stop will give Spring Valley a 17-15 win over Riverside.

Out at Underwood Field, Nitro looking for their third win in a row taking on Point Pleasant. Point Pleasant punts the ball across the field where it is caught by Nitro’s Takye Porter, who runs the ball more than 70 yards just short of a touchdown. That doesn’t stop them for long however, as Porter makes a quick run into the endzone, scoring a touchdown. Nitro gets another one in the win column, handily defeating Point Pleasant 56-13.

The Ripley Vikings welcome the Roane County Raiders. First drive of the game for Ripley, Quarter Back Jackson Moore drops back and finds Cody Lawrence, who takes it up the field for the Vikings and gives a nice stiff arm before heading in for the touchdown. Very close game between these two teams, but Roane County goes on to beat the Vikings, 38-36.

And down in Madison, the Mingo Central Miners hoping to stay undefeated against the Scott Skyhawks. Near the end of the half, still no one scores. Ball is dropped then picked up by Miner’s Jacob Maynard, and he took it all the way to the house. There was a flag but the score still stood for the Miners. It was all she wrote from there for the Skyhawks, and the Miners take this one, 19-0.

Down to Mercer County, the Winfield Generals traveling to face off against the Princeton Tigers. The Tigers get on the board first as Princeton Running Back Alex Cox dices the Winfield defense for a rushing touchdown. It was all Tigers in this one as Princeton gets it done 59-21 over Winfield.

The Poca Dots are coming off their bye week, back at home taking on Braxton County. Big throw is incomplete by Poca, but eventually, they get it into the end zone. Braxton County gets the win on the road 34-14 over Poca.

Now in Ohio, we have our game of the week that was livestreamed to our WOWK+ app, the Wahama Falcons on the road in Reedsville against the Eastern Eagles. First possession for Eastern. Yonker back to pass, he’s hit and the ball comes loose. It’s recovered by Wahama and set up nicely. They cash in with a hand off to Reezin Stitt, who goes over the pile for the touchdown. This would get dicey at points, but Wahama stays unbeaten with a 27-10 victory over Eastern.

At Panthers Field, the Chesapeake Panthers looking for a win taking on South Point. In the first half, Pointers have possession. KJ McLain gets the ball and throws it short to Caesyn Pope, who makes it to the 50 for the first down. Pointers keep pushing down the field until McLain hands off to Robert Napier, who finds the opening and dives into the endzone for the touchdown. South Point takes care of business against Chesapeake 41-18.
