Regional partners have convened in Nadi this week to shape the Pacific Violence Against Women Prevention Hub a feminist and Pacific-led initiative aimed at strengthening prevention efforts across the region.
The gathering is focused on creating a shared vision, structure, and strategy for the Hub, with objectives that include:
- Strategic Vision: Defining the Hub’s role, principles, and long-term impact.
- Scope: Ensuring the Hub adds value to crisis centres, grassroots advocates, and policymakers.
- Governance: Establishing a sustainable, inclusive, and Pacific-led model rooted in feminist values.
As a key partner, the Pacific Disability Forum (PDF) is ensuring the process is disability-inclusive. Women and girls with disabilities face heightened risks of violence and discrimination, making their voices critical to the Hub’s foundation.
Through PDF’s leadership, the Hub is committed to:
- Accessible tools and resources.
- Representation across diverse Pacific communities.
- Equity and justice at the centre of all prevention strategies.
The Hub aims to provide a united, Pacific-driven response to ending violence against women and girls.
