MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A flight from Delta Air Lines with 137 people onboard had to make a landing amid hydraulic issues Thursday morning at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

According to officials with RDU around 11 a.m., Delta Flight # 2633, a Boeing 737-900, was traveling from Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to RDU when it landed while experiencing a mechanical failure.

CBS 17 was at the scene after the flight landed. There were multiple Delta jets on the tarmac.

Delta officials were seen investigating the plane for any other issues or passenger injuries. So far, no injuries were reported by RDU or the airline provider. “Flight landed safely and customers deplaned normally after being towed to a gate,” a representative with Delta told CBS 17

In a statement, Delta Air Lines said that after their standard safety procedures on the plane, their crew declared an emergency and reported a hydraulic failure.

“Our flight crew reported a mechanical issue upon landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The flight landed safely and required a tow to an arrival gate. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding, as nothing is more important than safety at Delta.”

Delta said the evaluation of the aircraft is ongoing.

This comes on the heels of a collision between two Delta jets this morning on a LaGuardia taxiway.

According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a flight attendant sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
