INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday released the names of two of the three people killed in the city’s deadliest shooting so far this year.

Indianapolis police said they were called to a home in the 4500 block of Guion Road shortly before midnight Monday. They found 29-year-old Antonio Vazquez Molina dead in a car riddled with bullets. Also killed in the car was a woman whose name has not yet been released. Officers also found 22-year-old Jose Manuel Castellanos-Morales with gunshot wounds nearby; he died later at Eskenazi Hospital.

The killings bring Indianapolis’ total number of homicides this year to more than 120. New data from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department show there have been at least eight incidents in which two more more victims were killed, but Monday night’s shooting was the first time this year at least three people were killed in the same incident.

Officer Tommy Thompson with IMPD’s public information division said there was evidence of a large number of rounds fired at the scene. He said police need the community’s help to figure out what happened.

“It has struck them to the core,” Thompson said. “This community was impacted and we want to help that community as well as the entire community and the city of Indianapolis, but to do that in these instances, we need the community’s help. We need their partnership.”

IMPD call logs do not show any history of significant calls to the home prior to Monday, but neighbors told News 8 they have had problems with large gatherings and disturbances at the home and at an adjacent property. They did not want to speak on the record. One neighbor said they’re afraid to even answer their door. Thompson said any history of calls to the home will be part of the investigation.

Thompson said police did not believe a fatal shooting on Concord Street early Tuesday afternoon was related.

Indianapolis had two more fatal shootings on Tuesday.
