Longhorns rise in AP Top 25 after chaotic week as multiple top-10 teams fall

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas didn’t have to play this week to move up in the Associated Press Top 25 amid chaos across the college football landscape, with four top-10 teams losing in a wild week.

With all the movement around them, the Longhorns were elevated one spot to No. 9. They’ll take on unranked Florida in their Southeastern Conference opener at 2:30 p.m. CT, Saturday.

Ole Miss was the poll’s biggest riser, moving up nine spots to No. 4 after a 24-19 win over LSU. The Tigers fell nine slots to No. 13. Alabama rose seven spots to No. 10 with a 24-21 win over Georgia, and the Bulldogs dropped seven places to No. 12.
