I-64 East temporarily shut down after rollover crash near Barboursville

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Emergency crews were on the scene of a rollover crash on I-64 near Barboursville Saturday afternoon.

13 News Reporter Mitchell Hoy was on the scene, saying that the single-vehicle crash was on I-64 East between the 29th Street and Merritts Creek exits. Cabell County Dispatch confirmed the crash was reported around 3:06 p.m.

Chief Andrew Frazier of the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department, who was also on scene, said the vehicle was occupied by one man.

The man reportedly swerved to avoid a collision and lost control. He was able to get out of the vehicle while it was upside-down, and after being checked, he reported no injuries, refused transportation to the hospital and was released at the scene.

The road was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
