Tanner Hall has stepped down as Warren East football coach, effectively immediately.

Hall made the decision on Thursday in a letter addressed to Warren East principal Jonathan Vincent that was also sent to the Daily News.

“This season, I have been on suspension pending an allegation stemming from August 7, 2025,” Hall said in his resignation letter. “The Department of Community Based Services investigated the matter and ruled the allegation unsubstantiated. While I am grateful the investigation has cleared me to return to the classroom, I believe it is in the best interest of the program, the players and the community that I step aside from the football program at this time.

“Coaching at Warren East has been a life changing experience. I began as an assistant in June 2019 and have had the privilege to coach athletes that demonstrated tremendous dedication, perseverance and character. The athletes and fellow coaches I worked with will stay with me for the rest of my life. My family developed lifelong friendships. I got to watch both of my boys take some first steps on blue turf surrounded by players, staff, parents and community members that all served as phenomenal role models. Warren East will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Hall went on to thank the administration, fellow coaches, players and their families for trust and support throughout his tenure.

Warren County Superintendent Rob Clayton released the following statement.

“Warren County Public Schools confirms that, effective immediately, coach Tanner Hall has resigned from his role as head football coach at Warren East High School,” Clayton said in the statement.

The Daily News asked about an interim coach, but no other information was given other than the statement from Clayton.

Hall was in his third season as head coach at Warren East. The Raiders were 12-11 in the first two seasons, advancing to the 4A playoffs both times.

Warren East is 1-4 to start his season and will be hosting Franklin-Simpson at 7 p.m. on Friday.
