Foreign Ministers of Mongolia and Germany hold talks
AKIPRESS.COM – During the General Debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh met with Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Johann Wadephul. Battsetseg posted about the meeting on her X (Twitter) page.
The two Ministers noted that the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany in 2024 opens a new chapter in their bilateral relationship. They exchanged views on enhancing military, trade, economic, and investment cooperation and exploring new areas of partnership, including the empowerment of female peacekeepers, building on their strategic partnership.
The Ministers agreed that cooperation in education and culture has been vital in deepening mutual understanding and friendship. Given that the Mongolian government has designated 2026 as the Year of Education, they discussed implementing joint projects in this area.
A key event highlighted was the joint exhibition “Genghis Khan and the History of the Mongol Empire,” scheduled in Berlin for 2026. This event will mark the 100th anniversary of educational cooperation between the two countries and is expected to significantly advance their cultural relations.
