Some hospitals have only 20-25% supply of medicines – Vice Speaker
AKIPRESS.COM – Vice Speaker Jyldyz Sadyrbaeva stated that some hospitals have only a 20-25% supply of medicines during a meeting of the Parliament.
She challenged the claim by First Deputy Minister of Health Manas Toktomuratov that the supply is at 75-90%.
“The supply at 75% is incorrect,” she said. “I have letters from a patients’ association. The Chamber of Accounts also provided information on the failure to utilize 94 million soms.”
In response, Manas Toktomuratov said that his analysis showed a supply range of 75-90% and asked for a list of hospitals with shortages.
Jyldyz Sadyrbaeva noted that her colleagues had already named several such hospitals. She urged for a more thorough analysis, stating that the actual supply level is only 20-25% and that this reality must be acknowledged.
