UPDATE: The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said in a Saturday morning update that Ellie Mae has been found safe.
MARION, Ind. (WISH) — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was seeking the public’s help finding one of its missing K9s who got spooked and ran away Friday night.
The sheriff’s office says around 8 p.m., K9 Ellie Mae got scared while being moved from her outdoor kennel to an indoor area and ran off.
“Despite Despite ground searches and the use of drones, Ellie Mae has not yet been located. Her handler, who was out of state, is returning (Saturday) to assist in the search,” the office said on Facebook.
Ellie Mae was described as an adult red bloodhound with green-brown eyes. She is friendly with both pets and people.
Anyone who lives in western Grant County near Converse and believes they might have seen Ellie Mae was asked to contact Grant County dispatch nonemergency line at 765-668-8168.
