There seems to finally some respite from the incessant rains in Uttarakhand in the coming days. Sunshine has begun to shine from the mountains to the plains, with scattered clouds hovering in some places.
For the first time in the last three months, the Meteorological Department has not issued any rain warning. Partial clouds and light rain are expected in the mountainous regions of the state for the next three days. However, the weather in the plains is expected to remain dry.
On Saturday, most areas of the state, including Dehradun, were partly cloudy in the morning, but the day was filled with bright sunshine. The sunshine certainly increased temperatures by up to two degrees Celsius in most areas, but it brought relief from heavy rain after a long time.
For the past three months, the Meteorological Department has issued yellow, orange, and sometimes even red alerts daily. In this sequence, heavy rain continued in some parts of the state until Friday. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the weather cleared in most areas on Saturday.
