Man arrested for murder of his sister in Thessaloniki

A tragic crime occurred in Thessaloniki, where a man is reported to have suffocated his sister before calling the police to confess to the murder.

According to initial reports, the incident took place just after 3 p.m. in an apartment on Alexandria Street in the Harilaou area. The 50-year-old man, who has confessed to the crime, appears to have used a bag to suffocate his 59-year-old sister. After the horrific act, he called the police emergency line to admit what he had done, reportedly telling them, “I killed my sister.”

Police officers arrived at the apartment, found the woman’s body, and arrested the 50-year-old. The local police department has taken over the case.

Early information suggests that the man may suffer from psychiatric issues. It has not yet been confirmed whether the siblings lived together.
