CLEVELAND, Ohio — When President Trump traveled to England he was greeted by protestors projecting giant images of Jeffrey Epstein and him on the side of Windsor Castle’s tower and rolling out not the red carpet, but giant banners of the two on the lawn.
Before the President exited, he held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. When President Trump was asked about U.K. Ambassador to the U.S. Peter Mendalson being fired for his connection to Epstein, Trump deflected, claiming he didn’t know Mendalson, turning answering the question over to Starmer.
Mendalson had not only been in The Oval Office with President Trump just last week, President Trump made a point of complimenting Mendalson’s accent.
Like Trump, Mendalson was also a contributor to Epstein’s ‘Birthday Book’. The 238 page leather bound book was a collection of often lewd birthday greetings to Epstein.
Those bawdy messages also included one from Victoria’s Secret founder Les Wexner of New Albany, Ohio. Sabrina Eaton recently reported for Cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer.
The House Oversight Committee and Congress are now closer to passing the ‘Epstein Files Transparency Act’ that would fully disclose all the Department of Justice ‘s Epstein Files. In those files, the names of both Trump and Wexner are said to appear repeatedly.
Epstein had been Wexner’s personal money manager and on the Board of Trustee’s of Wexner’s L Brands, parent of Victoria’s Secret and The Limited. In 1991 Epstein had power of attorney over Wexner’s finances.
Wexner is already on the record of having both denied sexual encounters with an Epstein victim, the late Virginia Guiffre and being “embarrassed” by any past connection with Epstein with whom he claims to have severed ties with around 2006.
NBC4 in Columbus reported that Wexner’s name appeared in Epstein documents released a year ago 46 times. Virginia Guiffre claimed she had engaged in sex acts with Wexner multiple times. Guiffre had also claimed she had sex with Prince Andrew at Epstein’s homes. She took her own life in April, 2025.
Wexner’s attorney’s denied those claims in 2020 court documents.
“Mr. Wexner was unaware of, and was never a participant in any of the abhorrent behavior engaged in by Epstien against Epstein’s victims, that Mr. Wexner had never net Mr. Giuffre and that any claims to the contrary were not true.”
In 2019, Wexner claimed he cut ties with Epstein more than twelve years earlier and was “embarrassed” to be linked to him.
“Being taken advantage of by someone who was so sick, so cunning, so depraved is something that I am embarrassed that I was even close to, but that is in the past.
At some point in your life, we are all betrayed by fiends, and if we haven’t we’re really fortunate to have lived a perfectly sheltered life.
It did happen a long time ago and my distraction of that happened a long time ago. That was inexplicable, abhorrent behavior and clearly something we all would condemn,” said Wexner.
Friday former U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta will testify in a closed door session before the House Oversight Committee. As the U.S. prosecutor in Florida, Acosta had given a sweetheart/lollipop deal to Epstein who had 8th/9th grade 14 year old girls giving him nude massages.
